A West Yorkshire police officer has been charged with rape and other sexual offences dating back to the mid-1990s.
Sgt Salim Ismail, 50, is accused of two counts of indecent assault, one of rape and one of attempted rape.
The offences are alleged to have happened in Surrey, where Sgt Ismail served as an officer between 1993 and 2002.
Sgt Ismail has been suspended from duty in West Yorkshire.
He is due to appear at Guildford Magistrates’ Court on August 15.
